Capturing the Magic of Poppies: A Peek Behind the Lens

At Poppies Nursery, it is our ongoing mission to give families a true sense of what life is like at Poppies and to showcase the spaces, activities, and values that make our nursery so special. That is why this month we teamed up with Pete from Genius Photography for a very exciting photoshoot and video session across both our Tidworth and Perham Down settings.

With Pete behind the lens and the support of our new marketing consultant, Izzy from Innovista Marketing, the day was all about capturing the magic that happens here every day. From the laughter echoing through our baby rooms to the muddy hands and beaming faces in our outdoor play areas, we documented not just the fun, but the meaningful moments that reflect who we are and why the children love it here.

This photoshoot has given us a wonderful opportunity to visually share those moments of learning, discovery, and joy. As we work on updating our website, we’re so excited to show current and prospective families just what Poppies Nursery is all about. A Virtual Welcome to Poppies Nursery

We’re thrilled to be introducing virtual walkthrough videos for both our Tidworth and Perham Down settings. These videos are being created to give prospective families a real feel for what a day at Poppies Nursery looks like. Whether you’re exploring our nurseries from the comfort of home or sharing with family further afield, these videos will make you feel like you’re right here with us – watching little ones play, learn and grow.

The walkthroughs show everything from the cosy nap rooms to the energetic preschool activities, giving a true sense of the loving environment our team works so hard to create.

 

 

A Day Full of Smiles

The photoshoot was a day to remember! From the moment Pete arrived with his camera gear, the children were fascinated, many of them choosing to get involved in any way they could. Some were frantically waving through the windows or jumping into the frame with beaming smiles, while others couldn’t have cared less and carried on with the activities that they love. 

We were able to capture the children doing what they do best – being themselves and having fun! Whether it was painting, scooting around on tricycles, reading in our cosy nooks, or simply racing past the camera man for a perfect action shot. It was all part of a beautiful, real day at Poppies Nursery.

 

Nurturing Independence at Every Age

One of the most heartwarming parts of our recent photoshoot was how naturally our children demonstrated their growing independence. It’s something we actively nurture here at Poppies, and having the chance to capture it on camera was truly special.

From the moment the day began, our little learners showed just how capable they are. We got some beautiful photos and video clips of the children confidently washing their hands, something that’s second nature to them now but such a powerful display of good hygiene habits and responsibility.

Another favourite moment was seeing the children pour their own milk and serve up their own meals. It’s all part of our approach to encouraging choice, fine motor skills, and building confidence in daily routines. With nursery practitioners nearby to support if needed, the children embraced these tasks with enthusiasm and focus.

These seemingly simple moments tell a much bigger story – one of trust, growth, and pride in achieving things “all by myself.” And that’s exactly what Poppies Nursery is all about: creating a safe, supportive environment where children can explore, learn, and flourish.

 

Looking Ahead

This photoshoot marks an exciting milestone as we continue to invest in our spaces and services. Our updated website will not only include these beautiful photos and videos but also reflect the values that are so important to us: nurturing children, supporting families, and fostering a sense of belonging.

We’re also using this opportunity to make it easier for new families to get in touch, book tours, and see what a day at Poppies Nursery is really like because we know that seeing the joy on the children’s faces says more than any brochure or flyer ever could.
